Bull rider dies at Perry rodeo

PERRY, Okla. — A bull rider died Saturday night at a rodeo in Perry, according to Shane Parli, vice president of the Cherokee Strip Riding Club.

Authorities have not said what happened during the performance.

A friend of the rider told KOCO he died during a bull ride.

"We had a tragic accident last night in our rodeo performance," Parli said. "A great young cowboy lost his life. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and their loved ones."
