On Friday, Oct. 13, a Broken Arrow Public School bus driver was arrested for child endangerment and kidnapping.

The Broken Arrow Police Department responded to 800 East Albany Street in reference to an incident involving a Broken Arrow Public School bus.

Officers and school administrators made contact with the bus driver, several student passengers, and parents.

Police say that during the course of the investigation, it was determined the bus driver had stopped the bus and refused to allow passengers to exit with their legal guardians.

After several passengers began to exit the bus through emergency exits, the bus driver relocated the bus to an adjacent business parking lot as passengers attempted to exit.

Ultimately, 68-year-old Thomas Young was arrested for Child Endangerment and Kidnapping.

At this time there are no reports of injuries to any of the students involved in this situation, police say.
