Broken Arrow girl injured in boating accident

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol’s Marine Enforcement Division investigated a personal injury boating incident which occurred at 11:51 a.m. Thursday on Skiatook Lake, approximately .75 mile northwest of Tall Chief Cove in Osage County.

The incident involved a 2018 23-foot Price Craft Tri-toon boat, operated by Garrett Lee Barnes, 44, of Broken Arrow, OK. He was not injured.

A 16-year-old girl from Broken Arrow was transported by Country Corner EMS to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, where she was admitted in stable condition with leg injuries.

Three other passengers on the boat were not injured.

The Highway Patrol said the injured girl was riding a tube when the rope became entangled with her leg, causing her injuries.
