Boulder Bash set for May 21

The Oklahoma Earthbike Fellowship of Ponca City will host the Tour de Dirt Boulder Bash at the Ponca Mountain Bike Trails, 3000 East Prospect, on May 21.

There are three categories for bikers with different start times, laps and awards.

Category 3 is one lap. Registration is from 8 to  9 a.m. with start time at 9:30 a.m. Awards will be given for first, second and third places.

Category 2 is two laps. Registration is from 8 to 10:15 a.m. with start time at 10:45 a.m. Awards will be given for first, second and  third places.

Category 1 is three laps. Registration is from 8 to 10 a.m., with start time at 10:30 a.m. There is a 100 percent payout, 40 percent deep.

Registration is open online at www.usacycling.org and closes at midnight Friday, May 19. Race day registration starts at 8 a.m. for all classes and closes 30 minutes prior to each scheduled race.

Fees for Cat 1 , 2, SS: $30, $35 race day. Cat 3, Clydesdales: $25, $30 race day. All juniors, $20.

A TDD number plate will be required  to participate in any TDD event in 2017. These number plates are available at any TDD event registration. Racers must show their 2017 TDD number plate before they will be allowed to register for Boulder Bash. USAC rules apply and USAC license is required for all participants.

Laps are subject to change based on course conditions. Age classes will start at 1 to 2 minute intervals. Single speed and  the 60+ categories race the CAT 2 distance. Clydesdales race the CAT 3 distance. All Cat 1/Pro Women, CAT 1 50+ men and CAT 1 Juniors will race the CAT 2 distance. The promoter reserves the right to adjust start times, mileage and cancel/combine events.
