BLACKWELL — Blackwell police and the Kay County Sheriff’s Department are investigating a robbery that occurred around 10 a.m. Thursday.

Police Chief Dewayne Wood said a clerk at the Check N Go, in the 900 block of West Doolin, went to her car with a bank bag with the intent of going to the bank.

Wood said a man was in the back seat of her car. The clerk was forced to drive out to Radio Tower Lane where the male suspect took the money and got into a dark colored sedan and left.

The clerk then drove back to the business and called police. Wood said he will release more details when they become available
