Barnsdall teen, father injured in crash after police pursuit

A Barnsdall teen and his father were airlifted to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa Monday night after crashing their car on State Highway 11 a mile east of Pershing in Osage County.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported Hunter Burnett, 18, was driving a 1999 Chrysler Sebring eastbound on State Highway 11 as the Osage County Sheriff's Office and Wynona Police Department were in pursuit. His father, Loren Burnett, 45, was the passenger.

The younger Burnett lost control of the vehicle and left the roadway to the right, running approximately 150 yards off road, through a fence into a field before coming to rest in a creek, the Patrol reported.

The crash occurred at 9:23 p.m., the Patrol reported.
