Back-to-school bash Aug. 6 at Ponca City Assembly

The Ponca City Assembly at 2313 East Prospect will hold a Back to School Bash from 8 to 10 a.m. Aug. 6.

There will be activities for the whole family and 500 backpacks will be given away to students in kindergarten through sixth grade. Children must be present with a parent or guardian to receive a backpack, and the backpacks will have some school supplies inside.

There will be free donuts and haircuts, as well as appearances by the National Guard and Ponca City Police.

Activities include a slip and slide, tricycle water gauntlet, a dunk tank, temporary tattoos and a corn hole toss.

There's also a Pokemon Go Lure on the PCA Poke Stop.
