Assault suspect found

Ponca City police found the suspect who assaulted a police officer last night in the 400 block of S. Palm at 9:57 this morning.

Police officials said Bobbie Ferrill, 34 struck Officer Zook with a full plastic drink bottle.

Ferrill was arrested on felony charges of assault with a dangerous or deadly weapon.

He also was booked with Kay County Sheriff’s office traffic warrants.

It was at the Valero on W.Grand just after 10 p.m yesterday and Zook was waiting on results of a warrant check on Ferrill.

Zook sustained minor injuries and Ferrill fled the area on foot when he saw another patrol car arriving.

He is a white male, slender build, about 5’10” and close to 150 pounds.

He has dark hair and eyes and was wearing a green camouflage coat with jeans.
