Art Association to feature student artworks at City Central

Join the Ponca City Art Association on Sunday, Feb. 2, from 2 to 4 p.m. for a showcase of artwork from elementary students in Ponca City and surrounding areas.

Snacks and beverages will be served during this come-and-go exhibition opening reception.

The Call for Entries is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 27, 2020, at the PCAA facility on the 5th floor of the City Central building, 400 East Central Avenue in downtown Ponca City.  Teachers are responsible for hanging the entries submitted by their students. This is an exhibition show only.

Artwork should be picked up from 1 to 4 p.m. Feb. 17. All art work not picked up by 4 p.m. Feb. 17 may be subject to disposal, unless a special pick-up time has been approved.

Categories are:

  • Photography
  • Printmaking
  • Drawing, which includes the following:
    • Pastel
    • Colored Pencil
  • Mixed Media
  • Painting
  • Sculpture
  • Ceramics

Guidelines for Entries:

All work must be original. No copy work will be accepted unless the student changes it as an interpretation or it is a part of a larger work. Work displayed in previous PCCA shows is not permitted.

There is no limit on the size of the artwork in any medium.

One piece per student os allowed.

Work must be ready to hang. Mats are suitable. If framed, please do not use glass.

Hanging artwork should be stabilized with a backing.

Each artwork must be accompanied by an entry tag attached at the back right hand corner.

Please include the following on the tag:

  • Name
  • School
  • Medium
  • Grade level
  • Name and phone number or email of teacher who is submitting the work.
  • *Teachers, please submit a list of students and the number of works submitted so we can account for each piece when dropping off and picking up.

A middle school and high school show will be announced soon.
