ARKANSAS CITY, Kan.  The Arkansas City Police Department cited an Arkansas City driver Wednesday after she struck a 4-year-old child with her vehicle, causing injury.

Ginda Alexander, 28, was cited for inattentive driving. She was driving a black 2004 Ford SUV.

The Arkansas City Fire-EMS and Police departments responded at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday to a report of a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Third Street and Walnut Avenue.

They found the 4-year-old had been struck by a vehicle southbound on Third Street. The child was walking home with a parent and entered the intersection, traveling east, at the time the accident occurred.

The child suffered minor injuries to the right foot from the impact and a bloody lip from falling after the impact. No damage was reported to the vehicle involved.
