Area Christmas Parades Offer Community Celebration’s for the Holiday Season

The Old Tyme Christmas Celebration in Tonkawa is Thursday, December 1, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. The tree lighting and parade is at 6:30. Santa’s mailbox is currently at Mary’s Grill, in downtown Tonkawa for kids to send letters to Santa. Beginning December 1, Santa’s Mailbox will be at the Tonkawa Art Center at 202 East Grand during the Holiday Festivities.

Ponca City’s Lighted Christmas Parade is Friday, December 2 and begins at 6:00 pm in downtown, running along Grand Avenue. Following the parade a free showing of “Polar Express at 7:30 pm at the Poncan Theater, 104 East Grand, sponsored by Ponca City Arts and Humanities Council. Santa’s Mailbox is now at the RecPlex, 1604 West Grand , for kids to send a letter to Santa. If you include a self addressed envelope, Santa will send a letter back.

The Newkirk Christmas parade will take place on Saturday, December 3 at 6:00 p.m. This years Newkirk Snow Princess and Prince will be in the parade. The theme for this years parade is Christmas Movies.

Blackwell’s 10th Annual “Night of Lights” Christmas Parade is Monday, December 5,  starting at 6:30pm. The Community Christmas Tree Lighting will take place at the Blackwell Event Center & Fairgrounds on South Main following the parade. Santa will be there pass out candy and greet the kids.
