Vision and Hearing Screening Dates Announced for Ponca City Schools

The Ponca City Public School District would like to announce the schedule for vision screening for all Ponca City Public School students in grades pre-kindergarten through 5 ^th grade. This service is being provided by the Prevent Blindness Oklahoma organization, which is the state’s leading volunteer eye health and safety group dedicated to fighting blindness and saving sight. School nurses will screen all 1 ^st , 3 ^rd and 5 ^th grade students for hearing as well. Hearing referrals will be made for pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, 2 ^nd and 4 ^th grade students. If screening is done in one day, they will start at the next school at 8:30 a.m. instead of noon. They will screen each student Pre-Kindergarten through 5^th grade for vision. They will screen all 1^st, 3^rd and 5^th grades for hearing. All IEP-504 children need to be referred or any child a teacher wants screened to rule out hearing as a possible problem.
