Sixth grade academy

West Middle School would like to invite parents and students to attend the sixth g rade Academy. These two very informative orientation days will allow for sixtg grade parents and students to learn about West Middle School and help ease the transition into middle school.

August 12 – First Session

8:10 – 9:00 a.m.
Students will attend as part of their regularly scheduled day.

August 13 – Second Session
2:00 – 3:10 p.m.
Students will attend as part of their regularly scheduled day.

August 14 – Parents Only Session

6:00 p.m.
This session is for parents only. Students will have already had the information presented.

PARENTS ONLY NEED TO ATTEND ONE SESSION as they all provide the same information.

After all sessions, parents/guardians will have a chance to go to the computer labs and set up an email account and sign up for Power Gradebook, which allows parents to view their child’s grades, attendance, and behavior throughout the year as often as they wish. Parents will also be asked to complete a survey for a chance to win a year-long membership to the YMCA.

School officials are looking forward to seeing students and parents at this successful second annual event and will answer any questions or concerns.
