The Ponca City Public School District has named Bill Stinson and Rod Alexander as the new golf coaches for the Ponca City Senior High School. Stinson will serve as the Certified Head Golf Coach for the boys, and Alexander will be the Technical Coach for boys and girls.

Ponca City Athletic Director, Chris Walker, said, “We are very excited about the level of experience that has been added to our coaching staff. The addition of both of these gentlemen will help build on the strong tradition that Jerry Orr and John Spore developed.”

Both of the new coaches were asked how they felt about their new assignments. Bill Stinson responded, “I am looking forward to working with Ponca City High School golfers and helping them achieve their goals.” Alexander said, “I am very excited about this opportunity. I look forward to bringing Ponca City High School back to the state tournament and competing in every tournament. We have a talented group of players, both male and female, that I believe can compete if they work hard in practice and in the classroom. With the coaches we have in place and the two wonderful golf courses for us to use, we can build a program that can compete. I look forward to starting a program that begins in the elementary schools and advances all the way to the high school level. I want to thank Chris Walker, Dr. Pennington, and others who have chosen me to help this program. I look forward to the challenge.”
