Po-Hi academic awards ceremony announced

On Dec. 19, Ponca City High School will be hosting its Annual Academic Awards Ceremony at 6 p.m. in the Howell Auditorium.

More than 300 hundred students will be receiving recognition for their academic achievement during school year 2012-2013.

Certificates are presented to students with a yearly WGPA of 3.0 and Award Pins for yearly WGPA of 3.5 and above.

Letters are awarded to students with a cumulative WPGA of 3.5 the first year earned and bars then awarded for cumulative WPGA of 3.5 the years following.

A few new elements are being added to the ceremony.

Po-Hi class officers are being asked to introduce their peers receiving awards.

The sponsors for Po-Hi’s Youth Traffic Court and Student Council are special guest that will introduce their organizations’ officers and present information on how their group impacts the Po-Hi Community, and how to become a member.

For students maintaining a cumulative WGPA 3.5 with or above with no grade less than a C, they are awarded their academic Letter the first year, and a bar that can be added to the letter for each successive year.
