3 Candidates Will Interview for Ponca City School Board Seat

According to the Ponca City school board three candidates have applied for the unexpired ward 5 seat.

The candidates are Marvin Clark, Virginia Combrink and Jerry Fowler.

The candidates will be interviewed Monday night at a special board meeting from 5 to 6.

At the meeting the candidates will introduce themselves and then receive questions from the board.

The school boards said they will go in to executive session right after and vote.

The appointee will be sworn in and start work immediately at the regular meeting at 6 p.m.

Ward 5 term of office is Feb. 2012 to Feb. 2017.

Monday’s appointee will serve from Jan. 2014 to Feb. 2015.

The remaining two years of the unexpired term of office will be placed on the ballot for election.

The school board said Monday’s appointee may file for election if they wish.
