American Legion hosts Mother-Son Dance

Ponca City Now - February 20, 2014 2:20 pm

The American Legion is flipping the Father-Daughter dance tradition around.

They are hosting their second annual Mother-Son Dance.

Diane Beekman with the ladies auxiliary said tickets are $10 a person.

“The money benefits our veterans projects and also a lot of our local community projects, and then some of the proceeds will go to our building fund," Beekman said.

There will be two evening sessions.

The first session is from 4:30 to 6, the second is 7 to 8:30.

Tickets go on sale starting next Thursday and Friday.

Tickets can be purchased at the American Legion every Thursday and Friday in March from noon to 8.

“We are trying to make them available in the evenings too," Beekman said. "So, that way if the moms are on the way home, didnt have a chance on their lunch hours, they have a chance to come purchase them all day basically,"

The dance will be April 5 at the American Legion.
