American flights start in Stillwater Aug. 23

The City of Stillwater and American Airlines will celebrate the airline's first commercial flight from Stillwater Regional Airport Aug. 23.

The inaugural flight from Dallas-Fort Worth arrives in Stillwater at 2 p.m. and the inaugural flight departing Stillwater for Dallas-Fort Worth leaves at 2:30 p.m.

Dignitaries will be available for commentary at 1:15 p.m., with refreshments and an open house of the renovated airport main terminal taking place from noon to 2 p.m.

During regular service, two flights daily will take passengers between the two airports, where travelers can make connections to other destinations.

The Stillwater Regional Airport is at 2020-1 W. Airport Road, Stillwater. Airport parking is free, but limited.
