The Oklahoma Department of Corrections announced that all of their facilities have been locked down after more than 20 inmates were assaulted at three separate prisons.

The assaults happened at the North Fork Correctional Center, the Jess Dunn Correctional Center, and the Oklahoma State Penitentiary male prisons Friday afternoon.

Several of those injured were taken to local hospitals.

Officials quickly responded by securing all inmates back inside their cells.

ODOC corrections staff and agents with the Office of the Inspector General are currently investigating what caused the attacks.

Oklahoma DOC officials said all facilities system wide are secure.
