Brad Parent’s first period Algebra I class at Ponca City High School is piloting the virtual reality math program called Prisms.

The Ponca City Board of Education approved this pilot program and high school students are experiencing real-life scenarios with math foundations as supplemental curriculum to Algebra I.
This pilot program also supports the district’s growing investment and alignment to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).
Students are pictured learning the basics of virtual reality hardware and software. The students are in a “space ship” where they will learn how to land using the application of foundation Algebra I concepts.
Mary James, the district technology coordinator, is also pictured assisting Mr. Parent and students with the new technology.
