An Ada man pled guilty to stealing more than $225,000 from the Chickasaw Nation. Federal prosecutors in Muskogee say Christopher Covington was an accountant with the tribe’s treasury, and stole the money between 2017 and 2021.

They say he re-directed the money to his personal Coinbase.com account. Coinbase is used to exchange crypto-currencies.

Covington could spend up to 10 years in prison, and have to pay $250,000.
