Accidental Death in Ponca City

Saturday at 12:10pm the Ponca City Police Department Communications Center received a 911 call reporting that a young child had been run over in the 400 block of Virginia Avenue Police and Ambulance personnel were dispatched and responded to the scene.
15 month old Mayola Cousins was transported to Ponca City Alliance and then transferred by helicopter to OU Children’s Hospital in Oklahoma City. She died there just a few hours after the accident.
The driver of the vehicle, a 37 year old male, was interviewed by Police along with two eye witnesses to the accident. As required by law, the Ponca City Police Department contacted the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s Office along with the Department of Human Services to assist in the investigation.
