Severe thunderstorm warning issued

The National Weather Service in Norman has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Northern Kay County at 10:14 a.m. until 11 a.m.

A severe thunderstorm was located 4 miles west of Blackwell, moving east at 25 mph. This storm includes 60 mph wind gusts and half-dollar size hail.

Hail damage to vehicles is expected, as is wind damage to roofs, siding and trees.

Locations expected to be impaced include Blackwell, Newkirk, Braman, Kildare, Chilocco, Northwestern Kaw Lake and Peckham.

The weather service advises moving to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
