OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) – A group of Oklahoma lawmakers has filed a constitutional amendment to remove language from the state constitution that the Supreme Court says prohibits a Ten Commandments monument on the grounds of the Oklahoma Capitol.

The resolution calls for a statewide vote to remove Article 2, Section 5 of the state constitution.

The provision prohibits public money or property from being used for religious purposes.
