Section of US-177 closing for three days for railroad work

Ponca City Now - June 9, 2015 2:34 pm

US-177 will close between US-64 and US-412 (Cimarron Turnpike) starting June 15 for up to three days for alterations to the BNSF railroad track located 1 mile north of the US-64 junction. Motorists should identify detours along US-64 and SH-15 for the three-day closure.

This closure is part of a 6-mile $6.6 million ongoing construction project that is adding shoulders and repaving US-177 between US-64 and US-412. The project began March 3 and is estimated to finish in October, weather permitting.

With the exception of the scheduled railroad line work, this project will remain open to one lane with a flagging operation and pilot cars leading traffic through alternating lane closures. Motorists should plan extra time if traveling through this area.
