A Lawton man was arrested after assaulting and robbing a truck driver in Arizona on February 15, according to the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office.

According to officials 23-year-old Isaiah Walker of Lawton approached a driver at the Wilcox Loves Truck Stop in Arizona in an attempt to receive a ride.

When the driver was getting into his truck Walker grabbed the driver and threw him from his cab, stole the truck, and drove off.

The stolen truck, a car hauling semi, was transporting 10 Chevrolet C8 Corvettes with an estimated value above $1,250,000 and left the area traveling North on Fort Grant Road.

Walker began driving recklessly causing other cars to leave the road. The stolen truck finally turned onto County Line Road and stopped.

Isaiah Walker was taken into custody by the deputy and a Willcox Police Officer, who provided Walker with his Miranda Rights and interviewed him on the scene.

According to police, Walker admitted to stealing the truck because he had just been released from jail and needed a ride home. He was adamant that the corvettes had nothing to do with stealing the semi.

Walker was booked into the Cochise County Jail for multiple felony charges including Robbery, 11 counts of Theft of Means of Transportation, and Felony Theft.
