Ponca City and Enid High School Orchestra Invite Community to Open Dress Rehearsal

Ponca City Now - February 7, 2024 6:17 am

Ponca City Schools Concert Hall

The Ponca City and Enid high school orchestra programs would like to invite parents and the community to an open dress rehearsal this Thursday, February 8. In preparation for our upcoming OSSAA contests we will be performing and working our contest selections.
We have six groups performing that evening. Four middle school groups, (grades 7-9) and two high school orchestras.
Directors will have microphones and Director of Orchestras Paula Cochran will work briefly with each group.
“We learn so much from watching other groups in a performing environment. We are thrilled to have Michael Garland and his orchestras with us,” says Paula Cochran.
The middle school groups will start at 6:00pm. The high school groups will start as close to 7:00pm as possible.
What is an open dress rehearsal?
It is a rehearsal structured around concert guidelines. No program, no uniforms, and audience members can come and go as they please.
We ask that you maintain a quiet and respectful atmosphere as to not distract the students.
All talking should be done in the lobby and not in the auditorium.
Auditorium doors will open at 5:40pm.
As always, our performances are open and free to the public.
Our next Concert is Tuesday, February 27th. This will be our annual Orchestras in Review Concert starting at 7:00pm.
