A Kaw City man was hospitalized Thursday night after a one-vehicle accident at State Highway 11 and Pecan Road north of Ponca City.

Craig Todd, 58, was transported by Ponca City EMS to the Ponca City Medical Center emergency room. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports he was listed in stable condition with leg and internal trunk injuries.

Todd was alone at the time his vehicle departed the roadway to the right at a shallow angle, and drove off the roadway about two-tenths of a mile, OHP reports. His car hit several objects and a fence before hitting trees and coming to a rest.

OHP said the accident was due to a medical incident.

A stop sign was knocked down in the accident and SH 11 was closed until repairs could be made.
