Newkirk election results released

The Kay County Election Board has released the preliminary results of Tuesday’s election for Newkirk mayor.

The results have not been certified and do not include provisional ballot results.

The results were:

  • 21 votes for Michael Jones
  • 288 votes for Justin Beard
  • 125 votes for Brian Hobbs.

A proposition for Newkirk Public Schools was defeated, according to the preliminary results. Again, the results do not include provisional ballots. The total of votes for the proposition was 330; the total of votes against the proposition was 356.
