Crews monitoring road conditions

Ponca City Now - March 4, 2015 8:39 am

Oklahoma Department of Transportation crews are currently monitoring conditions as winter weather moves into the state, possibly impacting travel during the morning. Crews are prepared to apply sand and salt to interstate and highway bridges and roadways as conditions warrant and when temperatures begin to approach freezing.

Drivers should plan extra travel time this morning and increase the following distance between vehicles to allow extra room for braking. They are also advised to stay at least 200 feet behind road-clearing equipment on the highway.

If drivers must travel out of state, they are urged to check area road conditions before heading out.
