The driver of a vehicle involved in a potential road rage crash that forced a vehicle off the I-44 bridge in Tulsa was arrested and released on Monday, records show.

Records show Rashaun Parker, 40, was booked for assault with a deadly weapon just after 4 p.m. and was released on bond just after 10 p.m.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports that Parker was the driver of a 2012 Hyundai Sonata that was involved in the crash that sent 20-year-old Tikeara McCall‘s vehicle over the bridge.

OHP said the crash happened in the westbound lanes of I-44 on the Arkansas River Bridge just after 10 a.m.

The Tulsa Police Department is investigating whether road rage played a role in the crash.

Parker had two passengers in her vehicle that were taken to the hospital. Parker refused treatment at the scene, OHP said.

McCall is in the hospital with several injuries that are non-life-threatening, OHP said. Firefighters at the scene estimated the drop to be as much as 60 feet from the interstate to the river.

“Whenever we arrived on scene, we got our medical bags and walked toward the car,” said Capt. Brandon WrightTulsa Fire. “The car was actually upside down.”

Wright said McCall got out of the car and started walking towards the firefighters. Tulsa Fire also sent a rescue boat, but crews did not have to use it because there was little to no water in the river.

“There’s a lot of rebar and busted-up concrete and just big rocks,” said Wright. “It’s kind of awkward terrain to be walking in.”
