A lawsuit filed against an Oklahoma Catholic school is claiming negligence after the victim reported a teacher preyed on him during the 2018-19 school year.

Oklahoma County District Court documents claim St. John Nepomuk Catholic School didn’t provide an environment free of sexual predators for the victim, who was in 8th grade at the time of the incidents.

The lawsuit was also filed against the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City, the principal of the school and the teacher accused of preying on the victim, Samantha Brasses.

The documents claim Brasses continued to prey on the victim during school hours after both the principal and school were notified of the misconduct.

Brasses, who had no teaching background, taught at the school for one year before she was charged in 2019 for communicating with a minor by technology and had to register as a sex offender, court records said.

The lawsuit was filed based on negligence, gross negligence, assault and battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress, the documents said.
