PC Concert Series Membership Drive Continues Thru March 24

The Ponca City Concert Series is an all volunteer, nonprofit organization that has brought quality, affordable musical entertainment to the community since 1935. A subscription fiscal model is a key to success. Rather than taking the financial risk of selling an unknown number of tickets at the door, concert admission is by membership only.  Enrolling members near the conclusion of one season sets the artist budget for the next season. Advanced funding also helps control pricing, which is typically less than a third the cost of a ticket for similar acts at other venues. Members may also bring out-of-town guests at no additional charge.

Since 1935, thousands of Community Concert Series members have had the privilege of being treated to season after season of world class entertainment right here in Ponca City at the Poncan Theatre at 104 East Grand. The lineup for the 2023-2024 season continues this long tradition of excellence with performances by four outstanding groups.

The Rice Brothers – Piano and cello duo weave together classical, gospel, jazz, and boogie woogie, with works from Beethoven, Liszt, Joplin, and Gershwin.

David Shannon Irish Tenor – Ireland’s Greatest Showman, starring David Shannon provides an exciting mix of classic Irish songs and selections from David’s starring roles on Broadway and London’s West End. Along with powerful vocals, he also incorporates violin, Irish bodhran, and multi-media

Jaca – A guitar and clarinet duo that combines classical and world music, including Celtic tunes, Mozart, Duke Ellington, and more.

The Starlets – This pop female trio provides a journey through the ‘50s and ‘60s, with pop, doo wop, R&B, and Motown, along with choreography.

The annual membership drive began on March 11 and will continue through March 24. All new members who purchase a 2023-2024 membership will be treated to a bonus concert THIS season on Thursday, April 20, at 7:30 p.m., when the Ponca City Community Concert Series will be hosting the Empire Trio on their ‘Hooray for Hollywood’ tour. Members are invited to dress up as movie stars and walk the red carpet at this glamorous event. Attendees will also be eligible to win exciting door prizes.

The price of a yearly membership remains the same as last year: $50 for adults, $25 for students, and $125 for families residing in one household.
