Entries Sought for Tonkawa’s “Old Tyme Christmas Parade” and Holiday Celebration

The Tonkawa Chamber of commerce is asking for those who want to be a part of this years “Old Tyme Christmas Parade” to get their entries in. Entries should be made by December 1. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

The Old Tyme Christmas Celebration is Thursday December 1, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Tree lighting and parade is at 6:30.

Santa’s mailbox is at Mary’s Grill, in downtown Tonkawa for kids to send letters to Santa. Beginning December 1, Santa’s Mailbox will be at the Art Center, 202 East Grand from 5:00 to 8:00 pm during Holiday Festivities.

Businesses are encouraged to decorate their windows for the holidays for the “Business Window Decorating Contest”. Decorations are encouraged to be up by December 1. Deadline for entry is December 12. Nominations can be made by call the chamber office. Prizes will be awarded.

The Chamber is also announcing the “Neighborhood Decorating Contest”. Recruit your neighbors and decorate for the holidays. A neighborhood is considered three or more houses on the same block. Decorations are encouraged to be up by December 1.  Deadline for entries is December 12. Prizes will be awarded for the best neighborhood decorations.
