Updated road conditions from ODOT

Ponca City Now - January 14, 2015 12:40 pm

Oklahoma Department of Transportation crews in Beckham, Custer, Dewey, Harmon and Roger Mills counties in western Oklahoma are applying sand and salt to slick spots and reporting areas of light snow and light rain.

Crews in Cimarron County in the Oklahoma Panhandle are reporting slick spots and crews are plowing snow accumulations. Additionally, crews in Alfalfa, Ellis, Major and Woodward counties in northwestern Oklahoma are reporting a mix of light snow, light sleet and rain in areas and crews are applying sand and salt to bridges and slick spots where needed.

ODOT maintenance staff throughout the state continue to monitor conditions and remain on standby.

Drivers are urged to use caution, especially on bridges and overpasses through the day as a mix of scattered rain, snow and sleet is forecasted and freezing temperatures may cause slick spots to develop.

If drivers are traveling out of state, they are urged to check area road conditions before heading out.
