OSDH: Over 20,000 New COVID-19 Cases Reported Since Saturday

The Oklahoma State Health Department announced in today’s COVID situation update that there have been 20,150 new COVID cases since Saturday.

12,471 of these new cases were reported on Sunday, Jan. 23, and 7,679 were reported on Monday, Jan. 24.

The health department says this brings the new seven-day average to 10,703 cases a day.

At this time, OSDH reports there are 129,047 active cases in Oklahoma, with an overall COVID count of 914,063 cases since the start of the pandemic in 2020.

The recent three-day average of hospitalizations sits at 1,708, with 336 of these reportedly in the ICU and 64 being in pediatric beds, according to the state health department.

OSDH says there have currently been 13,063 CDC/NCHS provisional deaths within the state, with 95 more deaths than last announced on Saturday.
