Inhofe joins other senators in filing legislation to block firings of unvaccinated workers

Senator Jim Inhofe joined six other republican senators in introducing legislation that will protect unvaccinated workers from being fired due to President Biden’s vaccine mandate.

The mandate was announced in early September, and many companies have already started mandating COVID-19 vaccinations for their workforce.

However, many workers are making it clear they are unwilling to get the shot.

“Essential workers have honorably served in hospitals, public safety, schools and more throughout the pandemic, but now their livelihoods are threatened because of their vaccination status,” Inhofe said in a news release. “I am proud to cosponsor the Keeping Our COVID-19 Heroes Employed Act so that hardworking men and women can continue serving in Oklahoma and around the nation without the fear of being fired because of the Biden administration’s heavy-handed, out-of-touch national mandate. The decision to get the vaccine should be made individually – not mandated by the federal government.”

Joining Inhofe were senators Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee, Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming, Bill Hagerty of Tennessee, Mike Braun of Indiana, and Tommy Tuberville of Alaska.
