On Aug. 13, the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office received a missing person report regarding 47-year-old Troy Tolton.
Investigators say Tolton’s daughter reported that her father had not been seen or heard from since July 31st.
According to the probable cause affidavit, investigators determined that Tolton lived with his girlfriend, 51-year-old Agnes Crenshaw, in Tecumseh.
After investigators met with Crenshaw, she told them that Tolton was heading to Del City to help his nephew move. However, he never arrived.

Throughout the investigation, deputies say they weren’t able to find anyone who spoke with Tolton after July 29th.
“Agnes is the only individual identified during the investigation who has reported seeing Troy on July 31st, 2026,” the affidavit states.
During another interview with Crenshaw, she said that they had been arguing for two days before Tolton left their home on July 31.
The affidavit states that Crenshaw claimed Tolton had cheated on her and was speaking with other women. She also told detectives that he was using drugs.
Two days after he was reported missing, investigators found Tolton’s truck near S.E. 104th and Peebly Rd. in Oklahoma City.
According to the probable cause affidavit, an Oklahoma City Police Department vehicle with an automatic license plate reader captured Tolton’s truck at the intersection on Aug. 10.
Detectives also used Flock cameras to identify the route that Crenshaw claimed Tolton took to head toward Del City on July 31.
“Through communication with the OBN Watch Center, investigators confirmed that Troy’s Nissan Titan was not captured by Flock camera F#002 during the timeframe in which his cellphone records indicated the device was traveling along or near 192nd Street. This information is significant because Agnes specifically reported that Troy was driving his Nissan Titan along 192nd Street while she followed him in her vehicle. The absence of Troy’s vehicle from the available Flock camera records make investigators question whether Troy actually traveled that route in his Nissan Titan as Agnes described,” the affidavit states.
Investigators looked at Tolton’s cell phone data, social media accounts, surveillance footage, and bank accounts to gather additional information.
Authorities say they also learned that Crenshaw’s sister, Monica Pacheco, didn’t like Tolton and had a previous confrontation with him in June.
According to the affidavit, a witness told detectives that Pacheco fired a gun during the fight, but no one was hit.
As the investigation continued, detectives searched the Crenshaw property and discovered a human body wrapped in a blue tarp that was buried on the property.
Ultimately, the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the human remains were Tolton.
As a result, Agnes Crenshaw and Monica Pacheco were arrested on complaints of unlawful removal of the dead and desecration of a human corpse.
