Ponca City Public Schools is releasing PreK and Kindergarten Informational videos for parents of upcoming PreK and Kindergarten students on Thursday, April 15, 2021. The purpose of the video is to share pertinent information with parents of four to five-year-old students who will be attending PCPS during the upcoming 2021-2022 school year.

In order to attend PreK, a student must turn four on or before September 1st. The Washington PreK Center is located at 1615 N. 7th Street. In order to attend Kindergarten, a student must turn five on or before September 1st. Kindergarten is required by the state of Oklahoma. All Kindergarten students will attend classes at the elementary school located within the school boundaries of his/her home address.

Viewing the prepared transition video will inform parents of the goals and expectations of the early childhood programs in Ponca City.

The PreK registration window has been set for April 19-29, 2021. If your child will be attending PCPS during the 2021-2022 school year, we recommend you take advantage of early registration for four-year olds. Up-to-date shot records are required. Please take advantage of the Kay County Health Department or your child’s physician to get your child’s required vaccinations. Parents can also register their child for PCPS after school care program, Cat Care at this time.

We look forward to serving you and your child during these fundamental grade levels where important foundational skills are mastered in preparation for your child’s academic career. Take some time to view the informational video, learn more about your child’s early childhood program and curriculum expectations, and receive information on how to prepare your child for their first academic experience.
