EDMOND, Okla. (KOKH) — Authorities arrested an 11-year-old girl in connection with a shooting that happened at a home in Edmond on Wednesday afternoon.
On Wednesday, officers with the Edmond Police Department (EPD) responded to reports of a shooting at a home near W Danforth Road and N Kelly Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found a 15-year-old shot to death inside the home.
Investigators arrested the victim’s 11-year-old sister just before 1 a.m. on Thursday in connection with the shooting. Officers transported her to a juvenile detention facility, where she was booked on a charge of second-degree murder, according to EPD.
EPD said that because the case involves juveniles, the department is not releasing any further identifying information.
“We recognize this is a heartbreaking situation for the family involved,” EPD said. “Our thoughts are with them as they grieve this tragedy.”
