OKLAHOMA –The Oklahoma Department of Transportation and Oklahoma Turnpike Authority are launching the 2026 Snowplow Naming Contest, giving K-12 students statewide a chance to name the snowplows that help keep Oklahoma roads clear during winter weather.
Students can submit names for 24 ODOT snowplows and 11 OTA snowplows.
Submissions are open from Aug. 24 through Sept. 28 here.
Students can pitch creative names for snowplows that work to clear highways, interstates and turnpikes during winter storms.
After submissions close, ODOT and OTA staff across the state will select the top three name entries for each snowplow.
The public will then have a chance to vote for their favorites online from Oct. 12 through Oct. 16.
Winners will be announced Nov. 2 and featured on the snowplow tracking website during winter storms.
Winning students will receive special recognition on the tracking website and a winter weather prize pack.
