Reminder: Keep Grass Clippings in the Yard and Out of the Street

SHARE NOW
Recent flooding is an important reminder that keeping our storm drains clear is a responsibility we all share.
Grass clippings, leaves, and other yard debris left in the street can wash into storm drains, block the flow of water, and contribute to localized flooding.
When mowing, please direct grass clippings back into your yard and sweep or blow any remaining clippings off streets, sidewalks, and gutters.
Mulching or composting clippings is also a great way to return nutrients to your lawn.
A few minutes of cleanup can help protect your neighborhood and keep stormwater moving where it belongs. Keep it green, keep it clean, and keep it out of the drain!
