The Heather Cannon Wildcat of the Week #9 for the 2020-2021 School Year was presented this week to Knoxsah Camp, Jr.!

Knoxsah is a Junior and attends Wildcat Academy.

Superintendent Shelley Arrott said, “It was great presenting the Wildcat of the Week Award to Knoxsah because his friends and his teachers were super excited for him to be named! Knoxsah is a hard-working student who certainly applies strong work ethic to achieve his goals.”

“Knoxsah is a student at Wildcat Academy and has done a great deal of virtual learning at home. He is very focused, has a disciplined routine, and sets goals for himself to complete his virtual studies. Without doubt, it takes a very self-motivated student to be disciplined enough to learn through virtual platforms, but Knoxsah excels with virtual learning.”

“In fact, when I went to Wildcat Academy to present the award, Knoxsah was so focused on his online lessons, I was not sure if he was aware I was describing him when I shared the attributes the Wildcat of the Week exhibits. It’s typical for me to discuss the characteristics of the individual Wildcat of the Week before naming them. But once I called his name, it was obvious he was quite aware I was there for the Wildcat of the Week presentation.”

“Mrs. Streeter, the Director of Wildcat Academy and Virtual Learning told me that Knoxsah has continued to improve with learning online from last year to this year. He recently passed online Algebra II with flying colors because he focused on the online instruction rather than just trying to get through the coursework. Mrs. Streeter said that was no easy feat! On top of being a great virtual student, Knoxsah treats his friends, teachers, and everyone he meets with great respect, and the respect is obviously mutual because everyone was so proud to learn Knoxsah was named the Wildcat of the Week for Week #9.”

“Knoxsah, it has been a year of historical events that forced so many into Distant Learning! I am proud of you for your strong work ethic, discipline, striving to continue to improve as a student, and your positive attitude. You did not allow this challenging year to affect your dedication and drive to your studies. Your education will serve you well for the rest of your life, no matter what profession you decide to go into. The characteristics you apply from the Wildcat Way will allow you to do or be anything you set your mind to. Thank you for being such an amazing Wildcat; I am super proud of you!”

The Wildcat of the Week receives a Wildcat of the Week T-shirt, a Wildcat window sticker, and a coupon for a delicious burger basket from Ground Round. The award is sponsored by TEAM Radio, Heather Cannon Honda, Tyndall Family Dentistry, Ground Round, and Legacy Signs.

The award is open to ANY Ponca City High School student. TEAM Radio makes the final selections and coordinates with school officials for presentations. Please use this link to nominate a high school student for Wildcat of the Week: https://www.poncacitynow.com//32875-2/
