Donna Secrest

Donna Jean Secrest

November 11, 1928 - May 31, 2026

Mom was born on November 11, 1928, to Schiller Rudolph Riesen and Donna Florence (Easley) Riesen in Hutchinson County, Texas.

When she was only 3 years old
Our Grandad would have her sing
Out in the panhandle of Oklahoma
In a little café, what joy she could bring.

Later on, when she grew up
Five kids she would bring into their life
And she just kept on giving
As a mother, and as a wife.

Now we are with families of our own
Scattered out across the land
And we can still feel the love
The love that comes from a Mother’s hand.

That kind of love that can’t be stopped
No matter how far away we may be
The kind of love that can reach across
Mountains, valleys, and stormy seas.

The Bible says that children are a gift
And we believe that’s true
Gods word says that children are a gift
And we believe that moms are too.

Every good and perfect gift
Comes from our Father in Heaven above
So, God must have used our Mother
To deliver those wonderful gifts of love.

So Mom, were not sure how to thank you
For the gifts that you gave to us
And for that steady hand
For the hands that we came to trust.

Mom, were not sure how to thank you
For all the times that you were there
And though we may not have known it
There was always a “Mother’s Prayer”

Mom peacefully left this life on May 31, 2026.

We love you, Mom.
