Conservative Values, Consistent Work

As we officially adjourned Sine Die on May 14, I have spent time reflecting on this legislative session and the responsibility we have to the people of Oklahoma. The final weeks of session were frustrating for many.

While House members showed up ready to debate bills and cast votes every day, much of the work came to a standstill waiting on movement from the opposite chamber. Oklahomans deserve elected officials who show up, do the work and vote.

Even through the challenges, I remained committed to doing the job the people of House District 33 sent me to do. This session included 947 recorded votes, and I was proud that I did not miss a single vote all session long. Every vote represents the voices of the people back home, and I take that responsibility seriously.

One of the highlights of session was having senior homeschool page Emily Gordon join our office for a week at the Capitol. Emily stayed busy participating in page activities while also spending time in our office each day.

Even during a slower week at the Capitol, our office truly enjoyed getting to know her. It is always encouraging to see young people taking an interest in the legislative process and learning more about how state government works.

Outside the Capitol, I had the opportunity to spend time with many wonderful people across our district and state over the last few weeks.

On May 5, I enjoyed giving a legislative update to the Payne County GOP in Stillwater and discussing the important issues facing Oklahoma families and taxpayers.

On May 12, I attended the Coyle FFA annual banquet and was incredibly impressed by the outstanding young men and women involved in the program. Agriculture remains the backbone of Oklahoma, and organizations like FFA are helping prepare the next generation of leaders, producers and hardworking citizens who will help feed and sustain our state and nation for years to come. I left encouraged by the character and leadership shown by those students.

On May 13, I was honored to participate in a panel discussion at the OCPAC meeting held at the Oklahoma History Center alongside Rep. Kevin West and Sens. Julie McIntosh, Shane Jett and Brian Guthrie. We had strong conversations about conservative policy priorities and the importance of protecting Oklahoma values and freedoms.

I was also deeply honored on May 18 to receive the Oklahoma Second Amendment Minuteman Award at the Logan County GOP monthly meeting. Protecting the constitutional rights of law-abiding citizens will always remain one of my top priorities at the Capitol. The Second Amendment is not negotiable, and I will continue standing firm in defense of our freedoms.

It remains a true honor to represent our communities at the State Capitol, and I am grateful for the trust and support you continue to place in me. Please remember I am only a phone call or email away if you ever need anything.

I look forward to hearing from you! My email address is [email protected], or you can call my office at (405) 557-7304.
