The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported that a fatality collision occurred at 8:38 p.m. Thursday afternoon at the intersection of North Waverly Street and West Earth Road in Kay County.
The first vehicle was driven by Eugenia Ladawn Sester, 47, of Newkirk. She was pronunced deceased on the scene of the accident.
The second vehicle was driven by Jason Nicholas Roberts, 34, of Abilene, Texas. He was reported uninjured.
According to the Highway Patrol’s report, Sester was traverling westbound on West Earth Road, approaching an uncontrolled intersection. Roberts was traveling southbound on North Waverly Street approaching the same intersection. Both vehicles collided in the intersection and departed the roadway before coming to rest. Roberts’ vehicle rolled approximately 1/4 before coming to rest on the driver’s side. The report notes that a seatbelt was in use by Roberts and not in use by Sester.
The accident was investigated by Trooper Walbridge #728 of Troop Z/Traffic Homicide Unit.
The Highway Patrol notes that information was reported during the preliminary stages of the investigation and that all information could be subject to change.
