Freda Lynn Anderson

January 23, 1944 – April 29, 2026

Freda Lynn Anderson, of Newkirk, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, and quiet strength. She was born on January 23, 1944, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Fred W. and Lova Jane Smith.

Freda grew up in Blackwell and graduated from Blackwell High School in 1962. She began her working years at Lew Howard Drug Store, where she was employed from 1962 to 1965. On January 8, 1965, she married Billy Gene Sayre, and together they began a life centered on family and service.

A devoted homemaker and mother, Freda poured her life into caring for others. She faithfully served as a Sunday school teacher for children and was actively involved as a Bluebird and Campfire leader, impacting many young lives with her kindness and steady presence.

Following Billy’s passing in 1988, Freda showed remarkable resilience. She attended Northern Oklahoma College from 1989 to 1991, studying business, and went on to work in the NOC Administration Office from 1988 to 1995. She later served as a Kay County Court Clerk Deputy from 1995 until her retirement in 2005.

On July 30, 1991, Freda married Joe Richard Anderson. They made their home in Newkirk, Oklahoma, where they shared nearly 35 years of marriage filled with companionship, laughter, and deep devotion.

She attended weekly Bible study, remained active in teaching Sunday school to children, and was a devoted member of the Newkirk Church of Christ. She lived her faith quietly but powerfully, showing Christ’s love through her gentleness, humility, and care for others.
