Patricia Pemberton

Pat Pemberton

June 4, 1945 - April 25, 2026

Patricia Ruth Pemberton, lovingly known as “Pat” and to those closest to her as “Nan,” passed away on April 25, 2026, at the age of 80. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral home & Crematory, 505 W Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.

Pat was born on June 4, 1945, in Hominy, Oklahoma, to Floyd and Ruth Pomeroy. She attended Lincoln Elementary and Washington Elementary, East Junior High School, and Ponca City High School, graduating in 1963. She spent the majority of her life in Ponca City, Oklahoma, where she built lasting relationships and a life centered around family.

In 1963, she married Wayne Pemberton. Two children were born to this union, Tony Wayne Pemberton and Mitzi Gail Pemberton. Though their marriage later ended in the mid-1980s, they remained good friends throughout the years.

Pat’s strong work ethic and determination were evident throughout her life. After marrying, she began working for Conoco in the 1960s. She later returned to school and earned her business degree from Northern Oklahoma College in 1983. She went on to work for Dr. Delbert Foster, a dermatologist, before moving to Richmond, Virginia, where she worked as a CAD operator. The arrival of her first grandchild brought her back home to Ponca City, where she continued her career with Foster Design at ConocoPhillips until her retirement in 2012.

Pat was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She is survived by her daughter, Mitzi Gail Pemberton; her three grandchildren, Taylor Shane Pemberton and his wife, Kaylee; Ethan Wayne Deibler and his wife, Karly; and Allison Cate Edwards, all of Ponca City. She was a proud great-grandmother to Charlotte Beth Pemberton and Stella Clark Pemberton, with two more great-grandchildren expected this fall. She is also survived by her son-in-law, Eric Edwards; her sister, Jacquie Feil and her husband, Loal, of Owasso, Oklahoma; two nieces; several cousins and an aunt; as well as a cherished member of the family, Carla Pemberton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Ruth Pomeroy, and her son, Tony, who passed in 2022.

Pat found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially yard work and planting flowers. She also enjoyed reading and finding bargains at garage sales. Her family was the most important part of her life, and more than anything, she loved being present for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and took great pride in attending and supporting all the activities that were important to them.

Known affectionately as “Nan,” she will be remembered for the love she had for her family and the special role she played in their lives. Her presence, kindness, and the memories she created will be cherished by all who knew her.

Services will be held at Odd Fellows Cemetery, 1206 S. Waverly Street, Ponca City, on Friday, May 1, at 11:00 a.m. All friends and family are invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research or ACG Hospice.
