Joseph Roland

Joseph Leon Roland

December 30, 1956 — April 22, 2026

Joseph Leon Roland Sr (Pops) was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 22, 2026. Born December 30, 1956, to James Lee Roland and Mary Josephine Roland. He graduated in 1975 from Po High, and after attended college at Northwestern Oklahoma State University. After college he met Loletha Elston and together they had 5 children. Adrian, Joseph Jr., Tanya, Alisha, and Jessica. Joe was known for his love of many sports. He never missed one of his children's events. Often being the loudest voice in the crowd. Known for yelling "Boomer Sooner", or cheering on his beloved Dallas Cowboys saying, "This is their year". Joe was a devoted father, but he had an even bigger heart for his grandchildren. Never missing any of their events as well. He moved to Omaha Nebraska in 2012, where he resided with his oldest daughter for 10 years. While there he attended St. Bernard's Catholic Church. In 2022, he moved back to Oklahoma, settling in Newkirk at the Elmwood homes with his beloved dog "Charolette", whom he cherished. While in Newkirk, he became a faithful member of Rise Up Church, where he loved serving as "The Number One Greeter". There he was known for his big smile and warm hugs. He will be missed dearly there by so many!

Those left behind to cherish Joe’s memory are his four children. Joseph Roland Jr. (wife Terri Roland) Tanya Nass (husband Tim Nass, Alisha Barton (husband Darryk Barton, Jessica Pappan (husband Clayton Pappan, and bonus daughter Sharnice Alexander (fiancé Russ Jones). His siblings, Marvin Roland, Duke Roland, James Roland, Charlene Roland, and Connie Roland. Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as many Nieces, Nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother, son Adrian Roland, brother Herbert Roland, and granddaughter Torshaya.

Pops made an impact on so many lives, and he will be missed dearly by his family, his church family, the Newkirk sports teams, and all his friends at the Elmwood homes. On behalf of the family, we would like to thank everyone for all their love and support during this very sad time.
