Well, that’s been too long – come to the Rock N Brews Casino north of Braman, OK and enjoy a celebration of Scottish culture, tradition and athleticism. This is the first time the Scottish Highland games have been brought to Kay County! Watch local and statewide athletes compete for state and national level recognition – Willow Gahr and Amanda Huff are competing for WORLD recognition and the chance to compete at the World Highland Games in Scottland! Come cheer these ladies on. You will see competitors lift and throw a caber end over end (a caber is similar to an American telephone pole). A sheath of hay weighing 16 – 20 pounds being launched over a bar 30’ in the air and other exciting feats of strength and endurance. There will be a Tractor Tire Flip (open to everyone) and the ever-popular ax throwing event. Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or a curious newcomer, the Braman Scottish Festival and Highland Games offers something for everyone. Experience the vibrant atmosphere filled with live Scottish music by the Scottish band Waxie Dargles, who are fresh from their tour of Scottland and Ireland and will keep you entertained with Scottish Folk music and even some Scottish dancing. Enjoy delicious food as you cheer on your favorite competitor – Locals like Zach Berens, Brad Burnett and Stormy Mann, or any of the other 31 competitors.

Game Master’s Guild of Tonkawa, Big J’s Kickass BBQ, T-Shirts, cookies, muffins and sourdough bread as well as 3-D printing, Salsa, homemade goat’s milk soaps, wood engraving, Native Jewelry, Stained-glass and freeze-dried goods are but a few of the things you will find on grounds.
